Jessie Ware’s journey through music and motherhood has intertwined beautifully. With the birth of her first child marking the release of her third album, Glasshouse, and a second pregnancy underway, Jessie is now on the brink of launching a new venture—her own childrenswear brand.
The London-based singer-songwriter, who is just weeks from welcoming her second child, has teamed up with award-winning designer George Reddings to create anyware, a sustainable and timeless clothing line for children. Inspired by her love for dressing her daughter and wanting to create versatile, long-lasting pieces, Jessie found a creative partner in George, known for her work with Mothercare’s Little Bird line by Jools. Together, they aimed to design a collection that kids could wear over extended periods without quickly outgrowing.
Jessie appreciates simple, classic, oversized shapes reminiscent of the styles she cherished in the ‘80s and ‘90s. The collection embraces a sophisticated color palette that is wearable year-round, avoiding overly bright or clashing colors and bold graphics. This approach aligns with Jessie’s belief in reducing excessive consumerism, aiming for quality items that encourage a slower, more sustainable fashion cycle.
For her daughter, Jessie favors comfortable, adaptable clothing that works across various settings—outfits that are neither overly formal nor too casual but allow her to play and move freely.
Reflecting on her evolving career, Jessie shares the challenges and humor of co-hosting a podcast with her mother, recounting the unlikely success of their recipe discussions and the amazing people they’ve met along the way. Balancing music, motherhood, and now a childrenswear line, Jessie notes the joy, excitement, and occasional chaos this brings to her life.
Her upcoming line includes pieces she loves, like striped tops, high-waisted drawstring trousers, and denim jackets, which pair perfectly with denim overalls, all set to offer children comfort and style across all seasons.
