Review: Nuna TRES Car Seat

Review: Nuna TRES Car Seat

We initially purchased a car seat when our daughter was born, but as she grew, we realized our mistake—it only accommodates up to 18 months. Car seats are a considerable investment, and for those new to buying, we highly recommend the Nuna TRES. It’s designed to grow with your child, from birth up to age 12, meaning one seat is all you’ll ever need.

The seat can be rear-facing from birth to four years old and switches to forward-facing up to age 12. With six recline settings and 10 adjustable headrest positions, it ensures comfort for napping. Safety is paramount, and the TRES excels with i-Size compliance, a reinforced steel frame, durable plastics, removable inserts, Tailor tech™ memory foam, and EPP energy-absorbing foam. It’s also spill-proof, featuring two washable seat covers, one for winter and one for summer. Overall, a stylish, innovative car seat that’s a smart investment.

Road Safety Week Tips by Nuna

  • Select the appropriate seat – The seat must meet EU standards and be suitable for your child’s age and size.
  • Check harness tension – You should be able to slide two fingers under the shoulder harness slightly. If you can pinch it into a loop, it’s too loose.
  • Rearward is safer – Rear-facing seats are recommended until age 4 or up to 18.5 kg.
  • Ensure a pre-travel check – Always inspect the car seat before starting a journey.
  • Harness and headrest alignment – The harness should be level with or just below the shoulders in rear-facing seats, and just above in forward-facing seats; keep the child’s head within the headrest.
  • Remove bulky coats – Winter coats can interfere with the fit, so take them off before securing.
  • Fasten booster seats – Secure any unoccupied booster seats to prevent movement during travel.
  • Adjust harness each trip – Extend the harness when releasing to make the next use smoother.
  • Get proper fitment assistance – Have the seat fitted by a professional in-store if possible.
  • Daily belt checks – The seat belt should be tight enough to make a sound when flicked.
  • Use a mirror – Attach one to the rear headrest to keep an eye on your child while driving.
